Music

One of the things I find fascinating with this region of the United States is the propensity and popularity of music.  Whether it’s a ramp dinner, flea market, heritage days, festival, carnival or any other casual to formal social event, you most certainly will find music. 

Sometimes, the music is planned – a group will play a gig for a specified event.  However, the most fun I’ve found is the casual couple of old folks getting together - impromptu style!

True story: I overheard a conversation in local fleamarket: “Hey, Joe, do you got your guitar in the truck?” The next thing you know, there are a couple of folks picking and singing. A few minutes later, a fiddle joins them and then another guitar. Simply amazing!
